We want to rent your Trees!

Big Red’s is looking for more Black Walnut trees for the 2022 season.

Are you a land owner? Do you have a hedge row with some Black Walnut trees? Want to earn some extra $$ this spring? Big Red’s Maple Syrup operation is looking for a grove of black walnut trees to tap and make syrup with!

We will do all the tapping, sap collection, and boiling to make the syrup, we just need help finding the trees! We are looking for a grove of 25 or more trees, and will pay cash to lease the trees this spring. We have years of experience making maple syrup and are looking to expand our operation with additional Black Walnut syrup!

If you have, or know somebody who has some woods please contact us today! We are happy to come out, walk the woods and find all those trees! I’ll bring some walnut syrup so you can taste the sweet rewards too. We are looking in Wayne, Ontario and Monroe NY Counties.

Preserving Value

Tapping black walnut trees preserves the value of your tree and your land. Your trees will continue to produce nuts, shade, and wind blocking for years to come! The tree naturally heals over the tap hole. Tap holes take 1 season to heal and are barely detectable after 3 years.

We do all the hard work

Our team of experienced sugar bush technicians will walk the woods, set the taps, collect the sap and remove everything when the season is over. We take pride in our work and keep our work areas clean and organized. You don’t have to do anything other than provide access and collect your rent check.

We walk and ID the trees

Our experienced owner can identify a black walnut tree in the winter using bark color, bark patterns, branch shape and surrounding conditions. Even without leaves the trees are easy to identify. We will mark the trees with removeable marking tape leaving no trace in the spring we were even there.

Black Walnut Syrup has a sweet yet earthy taste with a smooth nutty finish. This syrup is excellent for cocktails, pancakes, or infusing in liquors.”
